The Accessibility Services staff members welcome collaboration with faculty regarding our mutual students. We encourage faculty members to email, call, or stop by Berks Hall, Room 216 at any time with questions or concerns about students with disabilities. We look forward to working together, in an interactive process, to discuss the need, process, and approach for accommodating students in individual classes and academic programs.
Accommodating Students with Disabilities
Accessibility Services staff members, through review of documentation and multiple measures, and in a collaborative process with the student, identify accommodations that must be provided to assure access to print, visual, or electronic information and materials, buildings, activities, etc. DS staff will communicate with faculty regarding what accommodations the student needs. Students are encouraged to talk to you about their needs and accommodations, also. It is the faculty members’ responsibility to implement the accommodations a stated on the accommodation memo.
Alternative Testing Procedure
This document will guide you through the process of instructor memos relating to alternative testing for students in your class, including how and where to drop off a test, and when and where your test will be returned to you.
Testing Room Rules and Regulations
The rules for students utilizing the testing center are given to students and provided for your reference.
Assisting Students with Possible Medical Emergencies
Accessibility Services staff members provide accommodations to students with seizures and other medical issues. On rare occasions, these issues may rise to the level of a medical emergency. If a student with this kind of issue is in your class, you will be notified with a Medical Memo.
